Weekly classes offer the opportunity for group learning on a variety of instruments as well as singing in a choir. The Club offers Mini classes to P2 children which are based on a Kod\u00e1ly approach to music education which develop fundamental music skills for learning an instrument.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of a successful Creative Scotland bid we are looking to recruit 2 experienced Music Tutors to work at a new Club at Dunard Primary School located in the Maryhill area of Glasgow, from September 2016. <\/p>\n<p>2 posts currently available<br \/>\nWhistle Teacher -to teach two 30 minute classes to P2 &#038; P4 children using a Kod\u00e1ly based approach <\/p>\n<p>Musicianship Tutor \u2013to teach two 30 minute musicianship sessions to P2 &#038;P4 children using a Kod\u00e1ly based approach. <\/p>\n<p>Person Specification:<br \/>\n-Be a passionate music educator with considerable experience of leading\/delivering music classes for primary aged children. <\/p>\n<p>-Be a music graduate qualified to degree level<\/p>\n<p>-Have a good singing voice of appropriate pitch and a competent instrumentalist able to perform on at least one musical instrument to a high standard. <\/p>\n<p>-Be knowledgeable about a Kod\u00e1ly approach to music education. Be able to plan music classes\/lessons that are age appropriate, engaging and which progressively and systematically develop children\u2019s musical skills, knowledge and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>-Be able to work collaboratively with music tutors and other professionals (including joint lesson planning when needed) <\/p>\n<p>-Be able to effectively communicate with young children and other teaching staff<\/p>\n<p>Fees-Whistle and Musicianship Tutor<br \/>\nThe contract is for an initial period of 30 weeks (until June 2017) at an hourly rate of \u00a335 per hour. These posts are available on a freelance basis only.
