Simon will be joined by a stellar line-up of musicians, including virtuoso fiddler\u00a0<strong>Patsy Reid<\/strong>\u00a0and award-winning cl\u00e0rsach player\u00a0<strong>Ciorstaidh Beaton<\/strong>, alongside Alice Allen, Seonaid Aitken, Kristan Harvey, Mairi MacMillan, Graham Mackenzie, Dave Milligan, Eryn Rae, Jack Smedley, Adam Sutherland, and Madeleine Stewart \u2014 plus the Strathspey and Surreal Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening will also celebrate Patsy Reid&#8217;s new album,&nbsp;<em>I Am Disposed to Mirth<\/em>, which features a number of Simon&#8217;s fiddle compositions, and will include the world premiere of a brand new cl\u00e0rsach concerto,&nbsp;<em>Itealaich an D\u00f2chais<\/em>, performed by Ciorstaidh Beaton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It promises to be a very special night of music \u2014 find out more and get your tickets via the Edinburgh International Festival website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eif.co.uk\/events\/simon-thoumire-scots-fiddle-clarsach\">https:\/\/www.eif.co.uk\/events\/simon-thoumire-scots-fiddle-clarsach<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re delighted to share some special news from our own Creative Director \u2014 this August, Simon Thoumire will present a retrospective concert as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, marking twenty years of his work as a composer.
