One of the most striking shows in this year’s Made in Scotland showcase, Sand, Silt, Flint<\/em> brings together music, myth and moving image in a performance rooted in the landscape and folklore of North-East Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created and performed by Fiona Soe Paing, with visuals by Isla Goldie and costume by April XJ Pressley, the show weaves experimental electronica with traditional instrumentation and archive material, placing live vocals against a cinematic backdrop of evocative imagery. The result is an exploration of place, memory and belonging that feels both deeply local and universally resonant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s already turning heads: Iggy Pop described it on BBC Radio 6 Music as “advanced and beautiful”, while Songlines called it “sublimely powerful.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sand, Silt, Flint<\/em> runs at the Jade Studio, Greenside @ George Street (The Royal Society of Edinburgh, 22\u201326 George Street) from 7\u201322 August, with previews on 7\u20138 August. Shows run daily at 10:20am (50 mins). Tickets are \u00a316.50 \/ \u00a313.50 concession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
