Although her career has been packed with major collaborations, countless one-off shows and festival appearances, this will be her first ever headline Scottish tour.

Audiences can expect a series of unique moments and spontaneous energy that only a live show can produce. Each concert will be recorded, with tracks drawn from across the run to create a live record that reflects the connection and shared experience of each night – something fans have long been calling for.

Deeply influenced by her upbringing in the Hebrides and Highlands, Julie has become one of Scotland’s most celebrated cultural voices. Her special Scottish tour will be shaped by collaboration and connection as she is joined by a handpicked group of special guests.

In Aberdeen and Dundee, Julie welcomes Kris Drever, who featured on her earliest work, including one of the first songs she ever recorded, My Love is on the High Seas (Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird a’ Chuain), which was later used in the trailer for the Disney-Pixar movie Brave.

Long-time collaborator and friend Mike McGoldrick will appear throughout the run, featuring at every stop, while Donald Shaw joins the line-up in Perth and Edinburgh, having also been a central figure in Julie’s career from the outset.

Both musicians have played with Julie on multiple records, collaborated with her for TV and radio, welcomed her on their own tours, and been involved in career-defining projects like Transatlantic Sessions.

In Stirling, spellbinding writer, musician, and storyteller Karine Polwart will join Julie at Albert Halls. The pair have collaborated extensively over the years including with Grammy Award winning US artist, Mary Chapin Carpenter, on their 2025 album Looking For The Thread, and on the highly acclaimed Spell Songs project, a multi-artist lyrical, musical and artistic response to environmental loss.

The Inverness opening night will welcome Gaelic vocal trio Sian, with Julie sharing a stage with the gifted singers Ceitlin Lilidh, Eilidh Cormack and Ellen MacDonald and instrumentalist Innes White altogether for the first time. Julie has long admired the award-winning group for their shared passion for the Gaelic tradition and promotion of the female perspective within Gaelic music.

Julie Fowlis said: “This tour feels very special indeed. It marks over 25 years of making music, and in that time I’ve somehow never quite managed a full headline tour around Scotland – now’s the time!

“It’s a genuine treat to be joined by such special guests. These are voices and musicians that I love and respect, who will each bring their individual flair to the stage.

“We’re planning to share songs people know and love, alongside newer material and pieces that have long been part of our live set but that don’t yet exist as recordings. I’ve had so many people ask for a live album, so I’m happy to be finally bringing that to life.

“Live performance has a magic all of its own. It’s about the shared energy in the room and that sense that every night is completely unique. We want to capture those fleeting moments, those connections, that feeling of being there, and we hope you will join us for some of that magic.”

Scotland’s inaugural Tosgaire na Gàdhlig (National Gaelic Ambassador), Julie will forever be recognised for singing the theme songs to Brave, Disney Pixar’s Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA winning animated film. She also recently collaborated with Bear McCreary on the main title theme song for Netflix’s new Outlander spin off, Blood of my Blood.

She is a classically trained musician and collaborates internationally, crossing genres, styles and languages. She sang live to a worldwide TV audience of over a billion people at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and her ‘crystalline’ and ‘intoxicating’ vocals even made it to space on a NASA astronaut playlist.

The live album recorded during the tour is expected to be available late 2026.

Julie Fowlis tours Scotland from 5 – 13 June 2026.
