Sound Sense PA Hire & Recording Services<\/a>\u00a0(Moffat) are the 4th\u00a0recipients of Hands Up for Trad\u2019s Business Limelight Award. The \u201cLimelight\u2019s\u201d are a monthly initiative (launched in October 2012) that recognises the outstanding contributions made by businesses and organisations who contribute, shape and influence the arts and cultural sector in Scotland today. Soundsense have served Scotland\u2019s festivals and musicians for many years always willing to take time to help and advise as well delivering strong and solid sound performances to our many bands at home and abroad.<\/p>\n

We asked John Weatherby of Sound Sense PA Hire & Recording Services\u00a0the following questions.<\/p>\n

What is your principle company activity?<\/strong>
\nProviding PA equipment and personell for concerts and festivals.
\nRecording company \u2013 studio and location.
\nSpecialising in traditional music.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>When and where did the company first start trading?<\/strong>
\nStarted trading in glasgow 1986<\/p>\n

What made you want to work in Scottish culture?<\/strong>
\nOngoing love of traditional music, and wanting to make a contribution\u00a0to keeping it alive.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us of any particular company highlights?<\/strong>
\nWorking at Orkney Folk Festival for 27 years!
\nClosely followed by Girvan Festival and Glenfarg Folk Feast.\u00a0Touring Europe, Canada and USA\u00a0with various bands.<\/p>\n

Apart from the festivals, one of the best things is having made good friends all over the world \u2013 through either touring, or doing sound for people over here.<\/p>\n

What are your company\u2019s plans for the future?<\/strong>
\nContinued expansion and upgrading of equipment to provide an ongoing
\nbetter service.<\/p>\n

How will you celebrate receiving Hands Up for Trad\u2019s Business<\/strong>
\nLimelight award?
