North Atlantic Fiddle Convention (NAFCo) is the only event in the world that brings together a music festival and an academic conference dedicated to the fiddle and dance traditions of the countries surrounding the North Atlantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a unique space where artists, academics, musicians, enthusiasts and audiences come together to share ideas, research, traditions and\u2014most importantly\u2014the joy of music and dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many cultural organisations, we have spent a huge amount of time and energy applying for public funding. Unfortunately, this has become increasingly difficult to secure, with funding bodies oversubscribed and competition fiercer than ever. We\u2019ve faced a number of setbacks along the way from public funding bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So now, we\u2019re thinking differently and taking matters into our own hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With your support, no matter how big or small, NAFCo will<\/strong> go ahead, and the North East will get the celebration it deserves to mark the 25th Anniversary. We already have over \u00a3430,000 in confirmed in-kind support from local businesses and organisations, which shows just how strongly the festival is valued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the incredible success of the Tall Ships Races, and the way Aberdeen and the surrounding areas came together, we\u2019re excited to invite you to be part of something special once again – whether you\u2019re a fiddle player, a dancer, an enthusiast, or someone that wants to be part of something amazing and bring communities together. We. Can. Do. It! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
