The premier Gaelic cultural event saw world-class Gaelic vocalists from across Scotland and beyond compete in the prestigious Gold Medal competition. Highlights include Saturday\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Ar C\u00e0nan \u2019s Ar Ce\u00f2l&nbsp;<\/strong>concert celebrating the best Lochaber talent including M\u00e0nran\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Ewen Henderson<\/strong>&nbsp;and celebrated Gaelic singer&nbsp;<strong>Rachel&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Walker<\/strong>, an evening of piping featuring master pipers&nbsp;<strong>Allan MacDonald<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Angus Nicolson<\/strong>,and a Remembered in Exile concert with&nbsp;<strong>M\u00e0iri Morrison&nbsp;<\/strong>and<strong>&nbsp;Alasdair Roberts<\/strong>&nbsp;sharing songs and ballads from Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year marks the ninth time Lochaber has hosted the 133-year-old event, which travels to a different location in Scotland each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With one month until the action gets underway, Lochaber residents, businesses and musicians are preparing to give visitors a warm Highland welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local company Shiel Buses will be on hand to help competitors, performers and audiences hop around Fort William with their shuttle service, which will include the vintage MacBraynes bus in their fleet. Long-time supporters of the M\u00f2d, family-run Shiel Buses was founded in Ardanamurchan and has grown to provide transport on a national scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharing their excitement,&nbsp;<strong>Donald MacGillivary said:&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to play our part in welcoming visitors to Fort William and supporting this incredible celebration of Gaelic culture. The M\u00f2d is not only a highlight for musicians and performers but also a vital boost for local businesses and the wider community.
