An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach <\/strong>has announced the appointment of Peigi MacLennan<\/strong> as Interim Chief Executive Officer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peigi will take up the role for a one year period, succeeding James Graham<\/strong> who is transitioning to a new role at B\u00f2rd na G\u00e0idhlig<\/strong> after more than fifteen years with the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peigi MacLennan<\/strong>, a native of Breasclete on the Isle of Lewis, has been a vital part of An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach since 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holding a degree in Gaelic Language and Culture from the University of the Highlands and Islands, she has served as the organisation\u2019s Company Secretary and Office Manager, providing steadfast support to successive Chief Executive Officers in managing financial, administrative and operational matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her 26-year tenure with An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach, extensive experience and deep commitment to the Gaelic language and culture make her ideally suited to step into this leadership role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James will continue in his current position on a part-time basis from August, until the conclusion of this year\u2019s Royal National M\u00f2d<\/strong> in Lochaber, when Peigi will take up the interim position on a full-time basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peigi MacLennan said:<\/strong> \u201cIt is an honour to take on the role of Interim CEO at such a pivotal moment for An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach. I am deeply passionate about the Gaelic language and culture, and have dedicated the last 26 years of my career to supporting the continued success of the Royal National M\u00f2d and the promotion of Gaelic across Scotland. I look forward to leading the organisation over the coming year with passion and determination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maggie Cunningham, Chair of An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach, said: <\/strong>\u201cPeigi brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to the Gaelic language and culture. Her knowledge of the organisation, her vast network and enduring passion make her the perfect person to step into this interim role. \u201cPeigi and the Board will work together over the next year to consider the best organisational structure for An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach in the longer term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Comunn G\u00e0idhealach is working closely with B\u00f2rd na G\u00e0idhlig<\/strong> to ensure James\u2019 smooth transition between posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
