The Award was established in 2008 to support the work of outstanding Dundee-based musicians by awarding grants towards the costs involved in creating new work in any genre, research and professional development. Past winners include: Michael Marra, The Ruvellas, The Hazey Janes, The Mirror Trap, Fat Goth, Scary People, AMWWF, SHHE, Shaun Scott (rapper EUGENE), Stacey MacLeay, Charlotte Brimner(BeCharlotte) and many more.
In 2025\/26 DMA will be offering Awards of \u00a3500 to a maximum of \u00a31000<\/p>\n
\u2022 \u00a3500 Early-Career Bursary for musicians that have been practicing for less than 5 years. This includes recent graduates (2019 or later) and those that have not studied music formally but have been performing for up to 5 years.<\/p>\n
\u2022 \u00a31,000 Bursary for musicians who have been performing for over 5 years, regardless of whether they have gone through formal education or not.<\/p>\n
