Anam Communications is proud to introduce R\u00d3, a young versatile artist from the Highlands of Scotland, with the release of their debut single, “Needing More,” available on all major digital platforms on 05 July 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Needing More” is a profound exploration of humanity’s relentless desire for more from both nature and our personal relationships. R\u00d3’s intricate finger-picking guitar parts, haunting melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics blend seamlessly to create a beautiful acoustic sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recorded in their family home studio, “Needing More” features contributions from family members Brian \u00d3 hEadhra on keyboards, Fionnag NicChoinnich, and \u00d3rla N\u00ed Eadhra on backing vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00d3 is not only a musician but also a skilled photographer and designer. They created the single’s photography, filmography and artwork, showcasing their multi-disciplinary artistic abilities. As an emerging artist, R\u00d3’s work is deeply influenced by themes of identity, childhood memories, Gaelic culture, nature, and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their music is inspired by artists such as Adrianne Lenker, Nick Drake, and Elliott Smith, as well as from the Scottish and Irish traditions passed on by their family in the Scottish Highlands and Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00d3 is looking forward to promoting this single and their live sound over the coming year and is planning to record more and do some live concerts in Scotland and online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
