The GRAMMY-nominated female supergroup have been pioneers for women in the Irish music scene and continue to leave an indelible mark, boasting 18 critically acclaimed albums and thousands of concerts performed globally, including selling out their last 15 performances at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comprising&nbsp;<strong>Joanie Madden<\/strong>&nbsp;on flute, whistles and harmony vocals,&nbsp;<strong>Mary Coogan<\/strong>&nbsp;on guitar,&nbsp;<strong>Mirella Murray<\/strong>on accordion,&nbsp;<strong>Kathleen Boyle<\/strong>&nbsp;on piano and harmony vocals,&nbsp;<strong>Nollaig Casey<\/strong>&nbsp;on fiddle,&nbsp;<strong>Kate Purcell<\/strong>&nbsp;on lead vocals and guitar, and accompanied by champion dancers&nbsp;<strong>Nathan Pilatzke<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Brian Culligan<\/strong>, the group are ready to entertain audiences up and down the country this summer with their rousing live performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joanie Madden of Cherish the Ladies said:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cWe\u2019re beyond excited to get on the road and perform in some fantastic venues across Scotland this summer. We\u2019ve performed at Celtic Connections in Glasgow many times and have enjoyed touring around the Highlands with Bl\u00e1s Festival in the past, but it\u2019s been years since we travelled around Scotland and we\u2019re delighted to be spreading our wings and visiting some fantastic towns where there are lots of fans of Irish music, song and dance.&nbsp;This is our first time performing in Dundee and Stonehaven and it\u2019s been 10 years since we performed at Eden Court so we really can\u2019t wait!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in New York City in 1985,&nbsp;<em>The New York Times<\/em>&nbsp;describes Cherish the Ladies&#8217; music as \u201cpassionate, tender, and rambunctious,\u201d while&nbsp;<em>The Washington Post<\/em>&nbsp;applauds their \u201castonishing array of virtuosity.\u201d They have been honoured as the&nbsp;<em>BBC\u2019s Best Musical Group of the Year<\/em>&nbsp;and named the&nbsp;<em>Top North American Celtic Group<\/em>&nbsp;at the Irish Music Awards.
