F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig, a leading arts organisation in Renfrewshire, is thrilled to announce the return of its ‘Stramash for Schools’ tour and the opening of applications for its annual F\u00e8is Week event in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on the success of the Royal National M\u00f2d’s visit to Paisley in 2023, F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig’s ‘Stramash for Schools’ tour will offer primary schools the opportunity to experience live traditional music and Gaelic culture from a team of professional musicians. The tour will kick off on Monday, April 15th, coinciding with the opening of applications for the annual F\u00e8is Week event, now in its 9th year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, ‘Stramash for Schools’ will visit 42 schools across Renfrewshire, providing free access to traditional arts for approximately 10,000 pupils. The tour aims to inspire and engage young people with Scotland’s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00e8is Week, which welcomed over 160 young people in 2023, will feature a brand new subject – Music Production. The four-day event offers young people the opportunity to work with some of Scotland’s best traditional musicians and tutors, immersing themselves in traditional arts and Gaelic culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are delighted to bring back our ‘Stramash for Schools’ tour and launch our annual F\u00e8is Week event,” said Feis Director, Grant McFarlane. “These initiatives are a wonderful opportunity for young people in Renfrewshire to experience traditional music and Gaelic culture first-hand.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications for F\u00e8is Week 2024 are now open. Limited places are available, and demand is expected to be high. To register, visit www.feisphaislig.com<\/a>. To support inclusivity, a number of funded places are available for those who are in receipt of a clothing grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
