The competition will be held at Celtic Connections on January 20th in the Drygate Brewery at 1pm. Why not come along and join in the fun?<\/p>\n<p>We asked Craig of Fidra a few questions about the band.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us about your band<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fidra is a folk music project based in Leith, Scotland, led by singer-songwriter Craig Salter. Fidra&#8217;s music is inspired by the natural beauty of the Scottish landscape and the rich musical heritage of the country. The project brings together musicians from across Scotland, and evokes elements of traditional Scottish folk music combined with a modern edge, blending a wide range of acoustic and electronic sounds.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bpg3c-NY-yU?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Who are the band members<\/strong><br \/>\nCraig Salter &#8211; Guitar\/Vocals<br \/>\nSarah Gallagher &#8211; Guitar\/Vocals<br \/>\nGill Higging &#8211; Harmonium\/Vocals<br \/>\nMadeleine Stewart &#8211; Fiddle<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are you hopes and aspirations for the band?<\/strong><br \/>\nIn the coming months we hope to expand live shows throughout Scotland and play a wide range of interesting venues.
