The stunning 140-year-old venue, located in the heart of Stirling, was named\u00a0on the \u2018best of\u2019 list<\/a>\u00a0alongside the likes of The Barrowlands in Glasgow and London\u2019s Palladium and 02 Brixton Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The magazine asked some of Britain\u2019s top musical artists who have been playing live for over a decade to choose their best venue to help produce the ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saul Davies, from indie-rock band James \u2013 who have released 16 studio albums selling more than 25 million copies \u2013 selected the Albert Halls.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Liverpool-born musician, who spent some of his childhood in the Stirling area, recalled his memories of performing at the venue with the Stirling Youth Symphony Orchestra at 14 and then playing there years later with James, calling it a \u2018life-affirming moment\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James and Saul\u2019s connection with Stirling doesn\u2019t end there, with the group writing part of their 2016 album Girl at the End of the World<\/em>, in Stirling\u2019s award-winning Tolbooth \u2013 sister venue to the Albert Halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heartbeat of Stirling\u2019s thriving cultural and creative scene<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Convener of Stirling Council\u2019s Finance, Economy and Corporate Support Committee, Cllr Margaret Brisley said: \u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to see Stirling\u2019s Albert Halls recognised alongside some of the UK\u2019s most iconic and popular musical venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Albert Halls is an incredible venue that has been a key part of Stirling\u2019s civic and artistic life for 140 years, hosting a diverse array of concerts, performances and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSaul has performed at iconic venues and major festivals across the world, so we\u2019re really proud that our very own Albert Halls is his favourite. It\u2019s clear the venue has a special place in his heart, starting from his time in the Stirling Youth Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile the Albert Halls has a great history, the great news is that it\u2019s going from strength to strength, attracting top artists and performers and regularly selling out in advance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA recent highlight was last year when it proved a fitting stage for the Scottish Album of the Year Award<\/a>, further enhancing its reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
