The beloved festive show will play seven dates across Scotland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the huge success and popularity of\u00a0Phil Cunningham\u2019s Christmas Songbook<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0over the last 16 years, the show will be returning to venues across Scotland this December, bringing musical Christmas cheer for the whole family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil and his talented musician friends will hit the road for seven shows, bringing their special brand of festive entertainment toAberdeen, Perth, Stirling, Glasgow, Dumfries and Edinburgh<\/strong>. The performances will feature modern and traditional Christmas music and outstanding musicianship, as well as heartwarming anecdotes from the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil will be joined by some of the finest musicians on the Scottish folk scene including Eddi Reader, Karen Matheson, John McCusker, Kris Drever, Ian Carr<\/strong> and Kevin McGuire<\/strong>, along with a special guest brass band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil Cunnginham<\/strong> said: \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to hit the road and take the Christmas Songbook on tour across Scotland again this year. The show has grown a lot over the years and has become part of people\u2019s festive traditions. Last year\u2019s tour was derailed a little by Covid so we can\u2019t wait to have a proper, long-awaited Christmas shindig with you all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be joined by some old friends, who happen to be some of the best folk artists in the country. We love bringing the Christmas cheer to towns and cities up and down the country and it\u2019s always fantastic to see people singing and dancing along!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil Cunningham<\/strong> is a brilliant and innovative instrumentalist, with the fastest fingers in the West. He is fondly known for his days with Silly Wizard and Relativity and as the quick witted musical partner of the great Shetland fiddler, Aly Bain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also widely recognised from his television and radio presenting, Phil is a true ambassador for traditional music, having been involved in some of the seminal programmes that enabled Scottish music to walk tall. Phil also has the gift of the gab \u2013 his effortless banter can have a packed hall falling about in the aisles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He will be joined by an impressive mix of lead vocalists, including the inimitable Eddi Reader<\/strong>, who has celebrated a career spanning over three decades and has effortlessly developed into one of popular music\u2019s most thrilling performers, as well asKaren Matheson<\/strong> OBE, recognised the world over as the lead vocalist of Celtic supergroup Capercaillie and award-winning Orcadian roots singer and guitarist Kris Drever<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The line-up also includes multi-instrumentalist\u00a0John McCusker<\/strong>, one of Scotland\u2019s most accomplished and versatile musicians, Ian Carr<\/strong>, known for his original and eclectic approach to traditional guitar music, and highly sought after double bassist\u00a0Kevin McGuire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
