\"folkforfolk\"<\/a>Reely Jiggered will bring a new FOLK for FOLK FESTIVAL to the Inverclyde area having received funding from Creative Scotland and Enterprise Music Scotland. Alison McNeill has put together a programme of \u00a0Summer Folk Music Workshops for young people and adults, concerts showcasing the participants of the workshops, a concert featuring BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Robyn Stapleton, Reely Jiggered & David Douglas and a closing Family Ceilidh.<\/p>\n

WORKSHOPS for Young People (8 years and above) and Adults: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Post Beginner to Intermediate<\/b>\u00a0Workshop\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>Tuesday 22nd \u2013 Thursday 24th July\u00a0(10am-4pm).\u00a0FOLK for FOLK application & information pack<\/a>

Intermediate to Advanced Workshop\u00a0<\/b>Friday 1st \u2013 Sunday 3rd August.\u00a0(10am- 4pm).\u00a0FOLK for FOLK application & information pack<\/a>
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

Participants, on their chosen instrument (fiddle, guitar, scots & gaelic song, drums, clarsach or pipes\/whistles) will attend a 3 day workshop, receive expert sectional and\u00a0group sessions focusing on Scotland\u2019s Heritage and Culture as well as looking into folk traditions of other countries which make up Scotland\u2019s vibrant Diversity. Each workshop will culminate with a concert on the last day.<\/p>\n

Tutors<\/strong>\u00a0are highly experienced musicians who have performed all over the world. They are skilled teachers seeking to inspire, challenge and have fun whilst catering for all abilities. The Workshops will be lead by Reely Jiggered\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0Alison McNeill<\/b>\u00a0(Fiddle & Scots Song) &\u00a0Fiona McNeill<\/b>\u00a0(Guitar & Drums). There will also be sessions with\u00a0BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2014 Robyn Stapleton<\/b>(Scots\/Gaelic Song),\u00a0David Douglas*<\/b>\u00a0(Vocal Coach & Singer\/Songwriter)\u00a0Eleanor Holley<\/strong>** (Clarsach) & Reely Jiggered drummer\u00a0Scott McLean. \u00a0<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0*Week 2 only. **Week 1 only<\/p>\n

COST:\u00a0<\/strong>Workshops have been part funded by Enterprise Music Scotland and Creative Scotland and as such we have been able to offer these workshops at excellent value.\u00a0Adults \u00a360 (excluding lunch)

The Royal Gourock Yacht Club is near to Gourock train Station and both the Western and Argyll Ferries.\u00a0The restaurant will be open for lunch during workshop days and dinner before concerts.<\/p>\n
