Below is my speech!<\/p>\n<p>It is my pleasure to present Sandy Broon and The Blue Lamp with a Hands Up for Trad Landmark Award. This home of Aberdeen folk music has been a focal point for all music over 70 years and what an amazing contribution. You wouldn\u2019t want to think what might have happened if hadn\u2019t been here. In an area of Scotland that has made such a rich contribution to Scottish trad music the Lampie has continued this into modern times.<\/p>\n<p>It is not easy being a bar nowadays and pubs have had to diversify. The Blue Lamp has always been ahead of its time and always recognised the importance of folk music to its people.<\/p>\n<p>Having an amazing and sympathetic music lover in Sandy Broon is the reason that this has continued though. Without Sandy we wouldn\u2019t be here today celebrating The Blue Lamp.
