The finals will be happen on 25th January 2020 in Drygate Brewery at the prestigious Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. Last years event was a great success and lots of fun! Finalists:<\/p>\n

Drouth<\/strong>
\nDrouth are a new and dynamic folk group based in Glasgow and formed specially for Battle of The Folk Bands. Featuring Edinburgh\u2019s Eddie Seaman on pipes and Braemar’s Ellie McLaren on fiddle this is an act full of energy and are excited to be performing at Celtic Connections!<\/p>\n

Figgins-Garden Band<\/strong>
\nScott Figgins and Scott Garden studied principally as pipers at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire but both play other instruments. They\u2019re both from Irvine in Ayrshire, and grew up piping together in their local pipe band and have been linked, both musically and as friends, since an early age. Their music blends pipes, whistles and guitar and has friendship at its core. They celebrated this musical bond by releasing their debut EP \u201cHorizonto\u201d at Piping Live 2019.<\/p>\n

Rumskee<\/strong>
\nRumskee are a band formed of 4 members between the ages of 18-21 with a line up of keys, pipes\/whistles, fiddle and vocals\/guitar. Formed in 2018 after meeting through the Argyll Ceilidh Trail, they come from all over Argyll and aim to incorporate jazz and blues influences into a sound embedded in their west-coast trad roots. They play a mixture of their own compositions and arrangements of traditional tunes.<\/p>\n

S\u00e9amus & Kenny<\/strong>
\nS\u00e9amus \u00d3 Baoighill and Kenny Rankin are both from Skye. S\u00e9amus was a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year award and guitarist and singer Kenny Rankin has performed with powerhouse trio Hecla and taken part the critically-acclaimed \u00d2ran Bagraidh project with concertina virtuoso Mohsen Amini.<\/p>\n
