Bothy Culture & Beyond; a music-vision-dance-bike spectacular featuring The GRIT Orchestra & guests with special appearance by Danny MacAskill.<\/em><\/p>\n

On sale Thursday 31 August at 10am.<\/em><\/p>\n

A spectacular and unique celebration of musician and producer Martyn Bennett<\/strong> that will feature global cycling sensation Danny MacAskill<\/strong> performing to a soundtrack from the re-formed GRIT Orchestra will help celebrate Celtic Connections\u2019 25th Anniversary in 2018<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The epic production, being staged at The SSE Hydro<\/strong> on Saturday 27 January<\/strong>, will feature the world premiere of the orchestration of Martyn Bennett\u2019s<\/strong> second album Bothy Culture<\/em> by violinist and composer Greg Lawson<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

It will include a section featuring professional street trials rider Danny MacAskill<\/strong> as inspired by his short film The Ridge<\/em>, in which he returns to his native home of the Isle of Skye for an action packed ride along the notorious Cuillin Ridge, set to the soundtrack of Martyn Bennett\u2019s<\/strong>Blackbird<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The GRIT Orchestra<\/strong> performed one of the most memorable and moving opening nights of Celtic Connections\u2019 entire 25 year history when they performed GRIT<\/em>, Martyn Bennett\u2019s<\/strong> final album, in 2015 to mark the 10th anniversary of his death. We cannot wait to welcome them back to the festival for what’s set to be an unforgettable show. <\/p>\n
