Stonehaven Folk Festival in conjunction with Hands Up for Trad are seeking applicants to take part in a hosted Virtual Festival to be held over Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July 2020. The aim of the Virtual Festival is to provide a paid performance opportunity for musicians within our community to help address the impact felt by the Covid-19 crisis.
Each successful application will receive a payment of £250 for a scheduled video appearance during the Festival. This will take the form of an instrument/singing workshop video, which should be approx. 45 mins in length, followed by a 15 min live chat. In addition, there is an opportunity to take part in an evening concert performance. The concert is planned for the Saturday night – so please indicate if you are interested in taking part in this.
The Festival are currently putting together a programme of events to celebrate the wealth of talent in the local area to be broadcast live online over the Festival weekend. We will inform each applicant of their allocated workshop. It is anticipated that the Festival will be run through Facebook Live but further details will be sent to all successful applicants. We will also consider submissions of pre-recorded videos if live streaming is difficult.
Due to our Charity Constitution, we are only able to offer these grants to musicians who are living in, or who have their roots in Aberdeen City, Shire and the Mearns.
