Fèis Phàislig will host their first ever online courses this July 21st with short courses created by some of Scotland’s best traditional musicians and tutors.
With their annual Fèis Week, a 4 day camp of come-and-try workshops, unable to take place this summer, Fèis Phàislig have developed an exciting new resource that can be used at home. There are lessons available for young people at all levels with courses developed for early years, complete beginners, improvers and more advanced young musicians. Participants can develop skills in music, dance, drama, filmmaking, singing and more – there really is something for everyone.
Grant McFarlane, Fèis Coordinator, says, “We are really excited about this new project for 2020 – our first ever online range of classes will give young people all across Scotland, and potentially even further, the chance to join our community and learn some fun new skills at home. Our tutors are working hard on developing some brilliant content for young people at home which can be accessed anytime, anywhere!”
Access to Fèis Online is only £40 per household – a one-time payment that allows participants to access and keep all lessons forever. This fee has been subsidised by Fèis Phàislig as they aim to keep access open to as many families as possible. A number of funded places are available for those who have free school meal entitlement.
