Barluath are a diverse and innovative Glasgow-based Scottish folk band, who embrace both the traditional and contemporary music of Scotland, Ireland and America. The five piece use Scots and Gaelic song, highland and border bagpipes, whistle, fiddle, piano, guitar and step-dance to create a powerful sound.
Barluath have performed at festivals across Europe including Lorient Festival Interceltique in France and Labadoux Festival in 2015. Last year the band were delighted to be nominated for ‘Folk Band of the Year’ and the Scots Trad Music Awards.
Barluath have released two studio albums, ‘Source’ in 2012 and ‘At Dawn of Day’ in 2015. Last year the band released their first music single ‘Touch the Gate’ written by lead singer Ainsley Hamill.
