Island of Hope is the third track from Kith & Kin, the new album from Linsey Aitken & Ken Campbell. The songs and music presented on this album are all about Kith and Kin, each with a story, each with a Scottish connection and a tale to be told. The album acts as Linsey and Ken’s musical manifesto, a coming together of both their musical journeys, now combined into one together.<\/p>\n
Linsey and Ken’s story weaves together their many creative musical threads and influences from Celtic traditional roots, classical, baroque, orchestral and contemporary Scots music, where historically, all genres were interlinked to from Scotland’s musical identity. Their unique songbook and music combines an unusual blend of instruments and pedigrees plus vocal harmony – self penned and traditional songs and tunes, encompassing a host of subjects, contemporary and historic, from Saint Columba to Dundee Whaling songs. Scot’s abroad, chorus songs and world events all with Scot’s related themes, all about people with wonderful stories to tell…<\/p>\n
