The revamped traditional Gaelic song has been infused with elements of dance and pop to create a wholly unique sound.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">The band believe that this new body of work will captivate both Gaelic speakers and enthusiasts of traditional music, alongside people who are perhaps not regular consumers of Scottish traditional music, thanks to the more modern musical influences on this classic song.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">Comprising of<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"> <b>Moilidh NicGriogair<\/b> (fiddle), <b>Zach Ronan<\/b> (accordion, backing vocals), <b>Aidan Spiers<\/b> (guitar, backing vocals), <b>Se\u00f2ras Chlad<\/b> (bass, backing vocals) and <b>Andrew Grossart<\/b> (drum kit, percussion)<\/span><span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">, with special guest<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\"><b>Joseph McCluskey<\/b>\u2019s lead vocals on the track, the band\u2019s eclectic musical backgrounds influence their original melodies and arrangements.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\"><b>DL\u00d9<\/b><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">released their debut album<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\"><i>Moch<\/i><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">in February 2022 which has been widely recognised with international radio plays, nominations and reviews. Recognising that<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\"><i>Moch was<\/i><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">marked by experimentation, DL\u00d9 have been honing their new musical direction over the past year having sought the advice of producer<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"> <b>Pete Fletcher<\/b> who recommended taking inspiration from the structure within dance music tracks. Taking this onboard, the band also drafted the inimitable <b>Duncan Lyall<\/b> who incorporates synths, creating more cohesion within the tracks.<\/p>\n<p><b>Zach Ronan<\/b> <\/span><span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\"><b>of DL\u00d9 said:<\/b><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\">\u201cI first heard<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0d0d0d;\"><i>\u00d2ran nam Mogaisea<\/i>n at the Glasgow F\u00e8is from Joy Dunlop when I was just a wee lad and I loved it! It really left a lasting impression as it is an absolute earworm and it was in my head for weeks. As soon as I suggested it to the band, we were all sold, knowing there was ample room for creativity and the opportunity to put an exciting and fresh modern influence on it. It went through a series of transformations before settling into the version we ultimately recorded.
