Collectively as Cruinn they have earned a reputation for their presentations of songs in Gaelic, both traditional and contemporary, and are admired for their outstanding use of harmonies and subtle arrangements.

QUOTE:
Strong clear melodies and beautifully full and mellow harmonies characterise Cruinn. (They) surpass expectations and provide a superb example of Gaelic song in the modern age.

….what comes through is the eloquence and majesty of a culture and the atmosphere of the land, sea and sky from which such a wonderful musical experience stems.

Cruinn manage the difficult balance of staying true to their roots and retaining the spirit of the Gaelic culture, while also making their music accessible to a wider audience. Their work is a pleasure to listen to – emotive, heartfelt, but highly professional. A CD to be replayed frequently.
Living Tradition Magazine – Review of album Stòras

Artist website: http://www.cruinn.net

Single title: Manus Mo Rùin
Album title: Stòras
Single artist: Cruinn
Single duration: 4:04
Record Label: Cruinn
Catalogue No: cruinncd002
Writers: Brian Ó hEadhra, Fiona Mackeinzie, Trad.
Publishers: Anam Communications
Explicit?: No

Search Terms: Highlands, Orkney, Gaelic, Gadhlig, Cruinn, Celtic, Folk, Inverness, Mackenzie

Follow these topics: Featured release, folk band, Gaelic language songs, Releases, Scottish songs, Scottish Traditions and Culture

In 1115 Earl Magnus (Manus) of Orkney was killed by his jealous half brother Earl Hakon.
