Dundee Acoustic Music Club hosted another great gig on Sunday, when Harry Bird and his Rubber Wellies came together to play us their unique brand of folk music. 65 or so of us gathered in the Roseangle Hall and nursed coffees and teas while Harry and his band sang of the road, the sea, of life and of more.
And after the spellbound audience had demanded at least one encore from Harry, Kate and Christophe, double basses, fiddles, mandolins and more begun to appear from the woodwork for the DAMCs first open session. I think all present would agree it was a great success and included some great players and exalted guests from bands such as the Dirty Beggars, Seven Sons, Wire & Wool and Mathers & Wares among others, playing a wide variety of music ranging from trad to bluegrass, Dylan to Grapelli and Reinhardt.
DAMC hope that everyone who enjoyed Sunday’s concert will come back for more at our next gig, the New Rope String Band on the 9th August.
