\"Distil_Showcase2015\"<\/a>Hands Up for Trad started in 2002 to host two projects – BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award and Distil. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been running Distil for 13 years now. The Distil Showcase started sometime in the mid 2000s to give composers the opportunity to use the skills they had learnt at the Distil Residential<\/a>. All these years on we’ve commissioned nearly 100 pieces of new music and formed a great partnership with Mr McFall’s Chamber. McFall’s work with the composers on finalising their pieces giving lots of helpful and practical advice to help the composers along the way.<\/p>\n
