It enriches lives, supports wellbeing, brings communities together and creates shared experiences that strengthen identity, place and&nbsp;belonging.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Music also has a major economic impact: as the world\u2019s second-largest music\u202fexporter, in 2024 music generated \u00a38 billion for the UK economy and supporting 220,000 UK&nbsp;jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recognition of the cultural and economic value it brings this country, the UK Government has identified music as a priority growth sector. The Music Growth Package, a major&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/creative-industries-sector-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Creative Industries Sector Plan<\/a>&nbsp;commitment, aims to drive innovation, enhance local economies, and support the music workforce with a focus on supporting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artscouncil.org.uk\/music-growth-package\/music-growth-package-good-growth\">sustainable and inclusive growth<\/a>&nbsp;across the&nbsp;industry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As lead delivery partner for the Music Growth Package \u2013 a\u202fUK Government fund,\u202fsupported by\u202fadditional investment from the National Lottery \u2013 Arts Council England will help\u202fartists, music creators and music businesses across both live and recorded music\u202fto develop new opportunities, strengthen their resilience and&nbsp;attract\u202ffurther\u202finvestment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our investment will deliver improved outcomes and greater scale, promote fairer working conditions and broaden opportunities, strengthen skills, and support a more diverse workforce that better reflects the nations and regions of the UK&nbsp;today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Music Growth investment funds will&nbsp;<strong>support emerging talent<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>strengthen grassroots music infrastructure<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>help UK artists, music creators and businesses&nbsp;<\/strong>reach, develop and respond to music fans and new audiences at home and\u202facross&nbsp;the&nbsp;globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Music Growth Package supports&nbsp;<strong>new music<\/strong>, which we define as original music (i.e. live performance, sound recording or musical work) recently or newly created or performed by living, UK-based artists&nbsp;or&nbsp;music&nbsp;creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artscouncil.org.uk\/music-growth-package\">https:\/\/www.artscouncil.org.uk\/music-growth-package<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Music is one of the UK\u2019s greatest strengths: a source of public pride, its cultural impact helps define how we are seen around the world.
