Open to young and emerging Scottish artists and bands, the award offers funding and support to create and release a debut album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supported by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.helpmusicians.org.uk\/\">Help Musicians<\/a>,\u202fthe Scottish Government\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.creativescotland.com\/funding\/funding-programmes\/targeted-funding\/youth-music-initiative\/\">Youth Music Initiative through Creative Scotland<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youthmusic.org.uk\/\">Youth Music<\/a>, plus manufacturing support from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/seabassvinyl.com\/\">Seabass Vinyl<\/a>, this\u202fAward is designed to support the next generation of Scottish talent to take the next step in their career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The winner will receive a funding and support package worth up to \u00a310,000&nbsp;<\/strong>to support the recording and production of their debut album, as well as a bespoke art prize from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sayaward.com\/about\/design\">The SAY Award Design Commission.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full funding package includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cash grants totaling \u00a36,000 for activities such as studio hire costs, session musician fees, equipment rentals and more<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A performance slot at 2026\u2019s SAY Award ceremony<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A bespoke art prize from The SAY Award Design Commission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 hours of one-to-one business advice from industry experts arranged via Help Musicians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online meet-ups with other Help Musicians\u2019 awardees and industry guests, arranged via Help Musicians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invites to online peer drop-in spaces with other musicians, arranged via Help Musicians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to a healthy practice session delivered by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bapam.org.uk\/\">BAPAM<\/a>, arranged via Help Musicians<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A run of up to 250 vinyl pressings of the album created via the prize; provided in-kind by Seabass Vinyl, Scotland\u2019s first vinyl pressing plant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A recording session with KNDRD (Scotty Anderson &amp; Jack Cochrane)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applications are now open for the&nbsp;Sound of Young Scotland Award&nbsp;2025.
