The Thirteen North Womxn in Live Acoustic Sound<\/em> mentorship scheme aims to challenge the vast gender imbalance among sound engineers in our industry. Recent stats indicate that women or non-binary people make up just 5% of UK sound engineers. We want to see more womxn in sound! This paid opportunity is for an up-and-coming female or non-binary sound engineer to gain hands-on experience on a project using acoustic instruments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The successful applicant will spend a day shadowing our Sound Engineer, Roderick Buchanan-Dunlop, during Thirteen North\u2019s inaugural performance \u2018Connected\u2019 in Glasgow on Thursday 29th June. They will also receive one additional day\u2019s mentoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Roderick, Teaching Fellow in Sound Design at The University of Edinburgh, is a highly experienced mentor with extensive experience of live sound engineering. The role also includes the chance to work with Composer and Sound Designer Pippa Murphy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thirteen North is a new string ensemble of thirteen of Scotland’s top players, conceived by violinists and Co-Artistic Directors Emily Davis and Catriona Price and directed from the violin by Emily Davis.
