{"id":3547,"date":"2022-06-23T10:28:41","date_gmt":"2022-06-23T09:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/distil\/?p=3547"},"modified":"2022-06-23T10:28:43","modified_gmt":"2022-06-23T09:28:43","slug":"visiting-music-teacher-george-heriots-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.handsupfortrad.scot\/distil\/visiting-music-teacher-george-heriots-trust\/","title":{"rendered":"Visiting Music Teacher (George Heriot&#8217;s Trust)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and experienced Visiting Music Teachers to join our thriving Music Department from August 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The successful candidates are expected to deliver progressive programmes of study tailored to the individual pupils\u2019 needs, whilst encouraging participation in the department\u2019s extensive extra-curricular programme in both Junior and Senior Schools. An ability to teach a wide range of styles from traditional repertoire through to musical theatre is essential.<br><br>There are several sizable music events in the Heriot\u2019s calendar in which the VMT\u2019s play a pivotal role: two concerts a year in the Usher Hall, one at Christmas for predominantly Senior School pupils and one with only Junior School performers in May. Major concerts also take place in the Queen\u2019s Hall, St Cuthbert\u2019s Church and St Giles Cathedral. Other events in school include a Junior School Music Festival, Senior House Music Competition, as well as many other internal and external events throughout the year. The school presents pupils for both ABRSM and Trinity exams, entry for either board being at the discretion of the VMT. In addition to \u201cGrade\u201d exams, VMT\u2019s also play an important part in preparing pupils for the Performing element of SQA exams.<br><br>General Information<br><br>Hours of Work: The VMT is expected to deliver a minimum of 30 lessons per pupil, per session during term-time.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>Lessons take place on the school campus between 7.30am and 4pm, and should each last 30 minutes.
