We are: looking for a Research Assistant to join our team for a major strategic project on music education and young people\u2019s music making in Scotland: \u201cWhat\u2019s Going On Now?\u201d<\/p>\n
We are: leading this major project on behalf of Creative Scotland, the Scottish Government, the Educational Institute for Scotland, and the Musicians\u2019 Union. \u201cWhat\u2019s Going On Now?\u201d is an audit of music education in Scotland, to update the 2003 report \u2018What\u2019s Going On?\u2019 and it will result in a comprehensive picture of young people\u2019s music making in Scotland.<\/p>\n
You are: passionate about the arts, music education and the opportunities available to young people, with a range of quantitative and qualitative research skills to support a major strategic project.<\/p>\n
You must have: specific experience of both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with a good working knowledge of data analysis and descriptive statistics; you will also have experience of analysing qualitative data. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with young people, their tutors, and all those involved in young people\u2019s music making and, ideally, experience of and insights into music education in Scotland. You will be pro-active and contribute strongly to the research team in all areas of this important project.<\/p>\n
This is a full-time fixed term post beginning on 1st March 2018 and concluding on 31st October 2018.<\/p>\n
