The aim of the day is to give opportunities for composers to improve technical skills in contemporary composition for the bassoon and the genre of opera as well as developing general compositional ideas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The day is suitable for all composers of all ages and stages of their careers. You can also attend if you\u2019re not a composer but interested in hearing about composing in these two areas and attending the lunchtime-concert and masterclass with internationally renowned bassoonist Pascal Gallois.&nbsp;<br \/>\nTimetable Outline&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>10.30am Registration, tea and coffee&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>11.00am Welcome and Introduction&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>11.05am Session on composing for opera&nbsp;<br \/>\n12.10pm 1:1 Surgery sessions with Errollyn and Benedict \u2013 to be pre-booked on application form&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sessions will last approximately 10-15 minutes&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A sandwich lunch will be served around the surgery sessions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1.00pm A recital by Pascale Gallois &#8211; one of the most prominent bassoon players in the world<\/p>\n<p>Gy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g\tPilinszky J\u00e1nos: G\u00e9rard de Nerval<br \/>\nToshio Hosokawa\tSen VII<br \/>\nGy\u00f6rgy Kurt\u00e1g\tKro\u00f3 Gy\u00f6rgy in memoriam<br \/>\nBerio\tSequenza XII<\/p>\n<p>2.00pm Session on composing for bassoon<\/p>\n<p>3.00pm Masterclass on bassoon and selected compositions from call-out led by Pascal Gallois<\/p>\n<p>4.00pm Finish&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Booking Information&nbsp;<br \/>\nYou must book a place on the day in advance by completing booking form available from sound by email.
