The Trust is now looking to develop its music programme.<\/p>\n<p><b>Project overview<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The desired candidate should have a knowledge and understanding of the music scene locally, including gaps, opportunities and strengths. They should also have an understanding of music provision across Scotland and how Dunoon Burgh Hall could address national priorities.&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe candidate will be expected to work with children, young people and older groups. They will develop connections with local musicians\u2019 groups to engage our community in all aspects of programming. This work will form a key part of Dunoon Burgh Hall\u2019s Cultural Ambassador programme, nurturing and supporting local talent.&nbsp;<br \/>\nProgramme development examples could include facilitating \u2018open mic\u2019 nights, community choirs, music workshops, school holiday activities, etc.&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will be expected to support any funding applications for music provision, as well as for the wider creative programme. Report writing and gathering data will be an important element of the post.<\/p>\n<p><b>ESSENTIAL SKILLS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Previous experience in music creation, performance and \/ or production<br \/>\nGood understanding of music opportunities across Scotland<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills<br \/>\nComputer literate &#8211; email, Word, presentations, etc.<br \/>\nAble to collate complex information&nbsp;<br \/>\nGood people skills<br \/>\nGood organisational skills<\/p>\n<p><b>PREFERABLE SKILLS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Good understanding and knowledge of music provision across Cowal<br \/>\nExperience of working with music education<br \/>\nPrevious experience in an arts based project<\/p>\n<p>FEE&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Total fee: \u00a36,400, on a freelance basis&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rate of pay: \u00a320 per hour<\/p>\n<p>Hours: 8 hours per week over 40 weeks&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Working hours will be flexible and self managed.<\/p>\n<p>Start date: October\/November 2017<\/p>\n<p>Project to be delivered by August 2018<br \/>\nThe successful applicant will be required to have a current PVG certificate<br \/>\nWork will be based at Dunoon Burgh Hall, 195 Argyll Street, Dunoon, PA23 7DD and will also require some travel across Cowal and the west of Scotland.
