Glasgow Life has a significant role to play in ensuring Glasgow retains its position as a world class city following the 2014 Commonwealth Games.  We operate 156 venues across Glasgow including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Emirates Arena, Mitchell Library and the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.  In addition we are proud to be responsible for Celtic Connections, the Glasgow Club and the City\u2019s 32 local libraries. <\/p>\n<p>As Diversity Agent for Change you will<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide high profile leadership for all aspect of embedding ethnic diversity at the centre of creative and artistic practice and activity.<br \/>\n\u2022 Engage the minority ethnic cultural sector to ascertain need and enable key messages to be communicated more widely<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and influence programming that represents and raises awareness of diverse work across arts forms<br \/>\n\u2022 Inform and Influence our programmes, platforms and services across the Arts, Music and Cultural Venue Service<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop new and use existing platforms for showcasing, sharing and networking to raise visibility and confidence of the minority ethnic cultural sector<br \/>\n\u2022 Influence\/ facilitate inclusive audience development and communication\/marketing\/PR plans provide strategic responsibility for programming in Glasgow Life and influence programming more widely across Glasgow and Scotland.<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitor \/ report \/ evaluate the activity delivered as part of the role as well as the impacts delivered, and oversee the reporting to funding body Creative Scotland and relevant stakeholders <\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Glasgow Life<\/p>\n<p>Responsible to Head of Arts and Music<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Direction from Advisory group of key strategic partners<\/p>\n<p>Remuneration at Grade 8 Level<br \/>\nThis is a temporary fixed-term contract. Contract length initially 24 months with possible extension up to 36 months (funding dependant)<br \/>\nThe post-holder will work collaboratively with the existing Arts, Music and Cultural Venues team to maximise ethnic diversity within ongoing core programmes and festivals, and presentations within our portfolio of venues, through high level influencing, decision-making, relationship development and capacity building. This would include Merchant City Festival, Glasgow Music Programmes, Celtic Connections, Tramway Programme, Glasgow Mela, Aye Write and Wee Write, Glasgow International Festival, DIG, Area Arts Programmes as well as the Cultural Programme for 2018 European Championships.<br \/>\nThe post-holder will also work collaboratively with the independent sector across art forms, including arts and music organisations, cultural and heritage organisations, venues and commercial partners to do the same.<br \/>\nGlasgow Life is an equal opportunities employer. Applications are actively encouraged from candidates from minority ethnic backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:<br \/>\n\u2022 Significant relevant experience within a cultural organisation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Educated to Degree level or equivalent vocational training.<br \/>\n\u2022 High level of written and spoken English.<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, including digital and IT skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Leadership: Experience organising and managing teams of people, activities, programmes and financial resources.<br \/>\n\u2022 People Management: Ability to organise, develop and motivate a team of managers and staff.<br \/>\n\u2022 Advice: Can confidently provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.<br \/>\n\u2022 Planning: Ability to interrogate data, recommend actions and establish priorities.<br \/>\n\u2022 Programme Planning: Evidence of experience of undertaking and arranging research to inform training, policy, and organisational development and capacity building.<br \/>\n\u2022 Budgets: Monitor and Control delegated budgets and identify and access other funds from external funding bodies and sponsors.<br \/>\n\u2022 Partnership: Experience liaising and co-ordinating activities with complex partnership arrangements.<br \/>\n\u2022 Representation: confident representing the Company on policy matters at a local and national level.<\/p>\n<p>Glasgow Life services are the top performing services delivered by or on behalf of Glasgow City Council.
