The programmes we use to do this are wide-ranging and cover the arts, education, English, science and society.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Team<\/b><\/p>\n<p>British Council works with Scotland and our global network to promote and project the best of education in Scotland and arts across the world and to ensure that Scotland informs \u2013 and benefits from \u2013 British Council\u2019s global programmes.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Opportunity<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We have an excellent opportunity for  an Arts Officer Edinburgh to provide logistical and administrative support to Head of Arts, in the delivery of activities, projects and programmes in the arts sector and associated communications and finances. The main focus of the role is to take the lead in supporting Head of Arts to build and develop relationships with the arts sector that are consistent with Scotland\u2019s ambitions and cultural distinctiveness on the international stage and with the Council\u2019s cultural relations mission.<\/p>\n<p><b>The  successful candidate must demonstrate the following essential knowledge &amp; experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Positively influences all customers about British Council.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the development of products, services, projects &amp; activities for target groups<\/li>\n<li>Establishes systems to collect and analyse customer and market info.<\/li>\n<li>Clear and effective communicator<\/li>\n<li>Good business and report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Develops, implements and evaluates an effective communication strategy and plan.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of project identification processes and communication with stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Undertakes assigned role in project delivery to stakeholder\u2019s satisfaction, contributing to development and implementation of project plan.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring, evaluation and reporting experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Some of the main opportunities\/challenges include:   (Please see Role Profile for full details of the duties)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working in organisational\/support role with financial responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Working independently with limited or remote supervision and taking or escalating decisions appropriately<\/li>\n<li>Using practical knowledge of the arts sector in Scotland<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Equality Comment &amp; Equality of Opportunity (UK)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Valuing diversity is essential to the British Council\u2019s work.
