Computer experience is required.<\/p>\n<p>Course Outline:<\/p>\n<p>Microphone Selection &#8211; Why and when to use.<br \/>\nApplications, characteristics, limitations<br \/>\nMic type &#8211; Dynamic, Condenser, Lavalier, Shotgun, Boundary, Stereo, Binaural<br \/>\nPolar Patterns -Omni, Cardoid, Attenuated, Others<\/p>\n<p>Practical Microphone Placement and Technique<br \/>\nCritical distance, Proximity effect, Shielding, simple acoustic treatments, filtering<br \/>\nLavalier Mic &#8211; Positioning, preventing distortion &#038; rustles<br \/>\nBooming &#8211; Positioning, preventing mic bumps<br \/>\nStereo Mics &#8211; Phase issues<\/p>\n<p>Editing Techniques (fades, looping)<br \/>\nBuilding a mix<br \/>\nBasic sound processing, noise reduction and dynamics (channel strips, EQ and compression)<br \/>\nInsert effects (modulation, filtering, distortion!!!!)<br \/>\nSend effects (delay, reverb)<br \/>\nAutomation (of volume, panning etc)<br \/>\nBussing (sending signals to multiple fx)<br \/>\nMastering effects (limiting)<br \/>\nExporting and file types<\/p>\n<p>Courses are open to all individuals aged 16 and over.
