The person appointed will work closely with our Programme Director, Board, Volunteers and Partners to develop and run a range of events.<\/p>\n<p>The specific qualities of our ideal candidate will include;<\/p>\n<p>Essential<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal<br \/>\n\u2022 A successful track record of project management including effective budgeting and budgetary control.<br \/>\n\u2022 A successful track record of events management and delivery ideally with<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of managing a number of projects concurrently<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of data gathering methods and analysis<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work independently, seeking guidance where needed<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work to deadlines and project manage<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of establishing and using social media platforms<br \/>\n\u2022 Track record of working positively with volunteers and partners.<\/p>\n<p>Desirable<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge and experience of project fund raising<br \/>\n\u2022 An interest in and familiarity with current Scottish cultural affairs<br \/>\n\u2022 Understanding of marketing principles<\/p>\n<p>Main Duties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\u2022 Responsible for the day to day co-ordination and planning of the events and awards programme including telephone answering and responding to email enquiries.<br \/>\n\u2022 Liaise with venues and events participants<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage events budgets<br \/>\n\u2022 The preparation of publicity material such as press releases, banners, flyers.<br \/>\n\u2022 Fundraising and sponsorship for events and projects<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and draft website and new media content as required<br \/>\n\u2022 Coordinate set-up, delivery and break down of events and awards.<br \/>\n\u2022 Produce and undertake event surveys, analyse data and produce evaluation reports.<br \/>\n\u2022 Answer and process booking enquiries for use of the Society\u2019s venue.<br \/>\n\u2022 Management of events, awards and membership databases.<br \/>\n\u2022 Carry out any other duties appropriate to the nature of the post as directed by Programme Director.<\/p>\n<p>Hours:4 day week, 30 hours per week (Tuesday- Friday 9am to 5pm) Working days flexible.<\/p>\n<p>Holidays:Pro- rata based on 25 days per annum<\/p>\n<p>12 Month Contract (3rd April 2017 \u2013 31st March 2018) with a possibility of extension there after.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a322,500.00 pro rata plus pension<\/p>\n<p>Location: Edinburgh City<\/p>\n<p>For further information, please contact saltire@saltiresociety.org.uk (Sarah Mason), or call 0131 556 1836, or visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saltiresociety.org.uk\/news\/2017\/02\/20\/events-officer-opportunity\">http:\/\/www.saltiresociety.org.uk\/news\/2017\/02\/20\/events-officer-opportunity<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The deadline is Monday 06 March 2017 at 12:00.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are looking for a dynamic individual who can work well in a small team as well as on their own initiative, with proven experience in event programming and management.
