The Scottish Poetry Library is seeking a motivated individual to support the Director across the full range of responsibilities including deputising for the Director in his absence and undertaking specific tasks\/ projects allocated by the Director. This role will ensure that strategic activities, including the completion of external funding applications can progress effectively whilst the ongoing business of the Library progresses effectively. The role would suit a candidate wishing to gain senior management and leadership experience in an arts environment. Experience of managing and developing staff would be an advantage.<\/p>\n

Specific Responsibilities
\n1.\tAct as line manager of all staff on behalf of the Director
\n2.\tProvide support and supervision for all staff, including undertaking one to one support and development meetings.
\n3.\tActive engagement with staff to ensure they are informed about and have the opportunity to contribute to the evolving development of the organisation
\n4.\tOversee the day to day operation of the Poetry Library Building, including security and maintenance
\n5.\tSupervise the provision of an accessible and effective reception service for the library building and its use by user groups and members of the public
\n6.\tAssist with the production of funding applications<\/p>\n

Main Terms and Conditions
\nHours of Work: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In addition, occasional out of hours work may be required to fulfil the responsible of the role.<\/p>\n
Salary equivalent to \u00a328K per annum
\n6 months (available as a secondment opportunity)<\/p>\n
Leave Entitlement: Based on 28 days annual leave plus 10 days public holiday per annum<\/p>\n
Pension: 1% employer salary contribution<\/p>\n
Location: Edinburgh City<\/p>\n
