Thank you to everyone who has submitted a request to the Bridging Bursary (Arts and Creative) funding programme to date. We will respond to all requests as soon as possible and within the four-week timeframe indicated. Please do not submit another request if you made one in the previous round.
The response to the first phase of requests was significant, with over 800 requests in three days requesting a total of just under £1.5m of the previously available £2m funds for the Bridging Bursary (Arts and Creative).
To enable us to support as many people as possible we have announced an extra £2million of funding, taking the total available funds to £4million.Freelands Foundation logo
This includes an extra £1million from the Scottish Government and £1million from the Freelands Foundation, as part of its landmark commitment of £3m towards emergency funds for artists, creative practitioners and freelancers across the UK affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
Requests for the Screen Scotland Bridging Bursary remain open.
As a reminder, both the Bridging Bursary funds aim to support and prioritise those most in need at this time, particularly those who are least likely to benefit from the recently announced Job Retention Scheme and Self Employment Income Support scheme. Those not in immediate need can access information on our Open Fund: Sustaining Creative Development.
